Electronic Commerce
[ send me this paper ]
A 5 page paper which discusses electronic commerce in
businesses today. The two large companies that are illustrated are 3M and GE, both of
which are, and have been, very actively involved in electronic commerce. GE has learned
that electronic commerce has saved their company a large sum of money, as has 3M. The
difference between the two is that 3M is beginning to realize it may not be advantageous
for them to reach individual customers with electronic commerce. But, while 3M may not
be financially successful with their small customers, other businesses may rely on the fact
that electronic commerce enables their small home business to reach many more people
than would be possible otherwise. No sources cited.

Once our ancestors dimly realized that it was easier to roll something than to drag it we humans were on our way.' It would appear that the same magnitude of change is occurring in investment habits.
